Kevin Parker of Tame Impala enlists Brandon Creed on his team
Tame Impala is the name of the experimental music project led by Kevin Parker, an Australian multi-instrumentalist. Parker wrote, played, and produced all of the project’s music in the recording studio.
Variety has learned that Brandon Creed and seasoned manager Jodie Regan of Spinning Top have joined Kevin Parker’s team for Tame Impala. Parker has developed into a highly sought-after producer and the multi-instrumentalist leader of the psychedelic rock band Tame Impala. He most recently worked with Dua Lipa and Lil Nas X.
He entered into a global publishing agreement with Sony/ATV in 2020. On the Australian label Spinning Top roster are artists like Haiku Hands, Cameron Avery, and POND, among others.
Since combining his Creed Co. business with the Azoffs’ in 2017, Creed has dubbed Full Stop Management his home, bringing over clients including Mark Ronson and Charli XCX. Currently, B, Lizzo, C Harry Styles, and many other celebrities are Full Stop clients.
During tours, Parker plays guitar and sings for the Tame Impala, including Dominic Simper and Julien Barbagallo on bass guitar and synthesizer (drums, vocals).
Nick Allbrook, a former live member of Tame Impala, and other members of the group Pond, another Australian psychedelic rock band, are frequent collaborators and friends of the group.
Tame Impala’s current labels include Interscope Records in the US and the UK’s Fiction Records. The band was formerly signed to Modular Recordings.
Parker initially created the idea in 2007 in Perth. In 2010, Tame Impala’s first studio album, Innerspeaker, was released. It was certified gold in Australia and earned favorable reviews from reviewers. Lonerism, Parker’s follow-up album from 2012, was well-received, achieving platinum status there and being nominated for the Best Alternative Music Album category at Grammy.
Currents, the third album by Tame Impala, was released in July 2015, and, like its previous album, it got a nomination for two ARIA Awards: Album of the Year and Best Rock Album.
With Currents’ first single, “Let It Happen,” Parker took home the 2016 APRA Award for Song of the Year. The Slow Rush, the fourth studio album, debuted on February 14th, 2020. Tame Impala brought home five medals from the 2020 ARIA Music Awards.
