Axl joined a large group of loved ones, pals, and admirers on Sunday at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, to honour the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley. Rose sang “November Rain,” one of Lisa Marie’s favourite songs, in her honour.
He explains why he was asked to perform the 1991 single of the band: “It was my belief, she talked about whether the circumstance… so that is why I was asked to do it. I was required to be here, of course.”
Axl approached the stage during the service and gave a heartfelt speech about his friend before playing the piano and performing an emotional piece.
Axl said, “I could never have envisioned singing here, especially in these conditions. That is really devastating.”
