Sofia Carson & Jamie Lee Curtis introduce the glamorous affair on Oscar
The Academy Awards on Sunday night featured a performance of the nominated song “Applause” from the movie “Tell It Like a Woman” by singer-actress Sofia Carson and songwriter Diane Warren (who won 14 Oscar nominations).
Carson implored the women of the world to “give yourselves some applause” during the actual, austere performance of the ballad.
Sofia Carson, wearing a two-piece bejeweled gown, walked over to the piano to embrace the ornate Warren, the artist’s backup singer wearing a white suit.
As the 2023’s Academy Awards (95th) champagne-colored carpet heated up, Fan Bingbing made a dazzling debut in shimmering silver and emerald green.

Carson looked like a princess. Her off-the-shoulder, form-fitting ball gown bodice with a beautiful diamond-shaped cutout in the center was matched by a stunning statement necklace made of diamonds and emeralds. Her Chopard jewelry included 92.57 carats of diamonds and 122.49 carats of emeralds.
Carson put on a pair of Jimmy Choo heels, even though they were concealed under the dress, to complete her look.
A delicate blue chiffon and deep plum two-tone Saab ballgown by Elie with a full train was Monica Barbaro’s choice for her carpet walk.
Jamie Lee Curtis opted for Dolce & Gabbana’s long-sleeve sparkler that matched the Oscars’ brand-new off-white carpet.
Before working with Warren, Sofia Carson performed in “Descendants” for Disney and contributed to each of the trilogy’s three soundtracks. She appeared in the popular summer movie “Purple Hearts,” by Netflix after “Descendants,” and she wrote eight original songs for the love story. In addition to writing music for films and television programs, Sofia Carson also released her studio album in 2022.
Warren returned to the Oscars for her fourteenth nomination, earning “Applause” her sixth consecutive nomination since 2018. Warren’s efforts on “RBG,” “Breakthrough,” “La vita davanti a sé,” “Marshall,” and “Four Good Days” all earned her nominations. In 2022, Warren won a lifetime Oscar; therefore, there was less suspense surrounding her eventual victory than in prior years.
“Applause” was the only entry nominated for “Tell It Like a Woman.” The section consists of seven global stories of women.

The annual Oscars recognize outstanding achievements in cinematography, animation, and filmmaking. Jimmy Kimmel hosts this year’s program. Janelle Monáe, Emily Blunt, Deepika Padukone, Dwayne Johnson, and others will present, while Rihanna, the Barbadian singer, and Lady Gaga will perform.
The red carpet got replaced with a champagne-colored one for the 95th annual Academy Awards ceremony as a design option to improve the picture of the arrivals. Since the 33rd Oscars in 1961, the champagne carpet is the first to depart from red.
