Jonathan Majors starred ‘Devotion,’ now available on Paramount+

Jonathan Majors stars in Sony Pictures’ film ‘Devotion’ as his real-life character Jesse Brown, who debuted as the first Black Aviator in the history of the Navy. The film is now available on the Paramount + network.

The 2022 American biographical war movie Devotion is based on Adam Makos’ 2015 book of the same name, which recounts the friendship between navy officers Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner during the Korean War.  J. D. Dillard directed the film, and Jake Crane & Jonathan Stewart wrote the script.  

In addition to Christina Jackson, Joe Jonas, Thomas Sadoski, Spencer Neville, Nick Hargrove, and Daren Kagasoff playing supporting roles, the movie stars Jonathan Majors as Jesse Brown and Glen Powell as Hudner.

In ‘Devotion,’ two distinguished US Navy fighter pilots named Hudner( Glen Powell) and Jesse Brown( Jonathan Majors) are profiled along with their relationship and professional careers and the numerous obstacles they overcame. Hudner and Brown created history during the Korean War.

In addition to being a fantastic action movie with gripping flight sequences, Top Gun: Maverick’s aviation coordinator Kevin LaRosa Jr. is also a love story of Christina Jackson playing Daisy, Jesse Brown’s wife, who struggled with the complex racial tragedies of the 1950s.

Box Office Collection

Devotion’s IMAX Toronto International Film Festival premiere took place at the Ontario Place Cinesphere on September 12, 2022. On November 23, 2022, Columbia Pictures released Devotion in the US.

Critics gave it high marks, but despite a $90 million budget, it only made $21 million worldwide at the box office. After the movie’s box office flop, Sony sold the distribution rights to Paramount Pictures.
