Camila Cabello, the Cuban-American singer, turned 26 today
Camila Cabello, an American musician and songwriter of Cuban descent, was born on March 3, 1997. Happy Birthday, Camila!
She gained notoriety when she joined the girl group Fifth Harmony, which became one of the most successful female groups of all time in sales.
While still a member of Fifth Harmony, Camila Cabello established herself as a solo artist by releasing the collaborative songs “I Know What You Did Last Summer” with Shawn Mendes and “Bad Things” with Machine Gun Kelly. The latter reached number four on the Hot 100 of the US Billboard.
“Camila” (2018), her first studio album, debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200. Influenced by Latin music, the pop album received positive reviews from critics and was awarded a Platinum rating by the RIAA.
The album’s debut song, “Havana,” reached the top of the charts in various nations, including the United States and the UK. Its follow-up, “Never Be the Same,” peaked in the top ten in numerous other countries.
“Senorita,” the 2019’s collaboration between Camila Cabello & Shawn Mendes, is her second single to top the Billboard Hot 100.
Her second studio album, 2019’s “Romance,” reached its highest position at number three on the Billboard 200 chart, with the single “My Oh My” running its highest part of number twelve on the Billboard Hot 100 and charting inside the top ten in several other nations.
Camila Cabello began her acting career in 2021, playing the lead in the movie Cinderella. The debut song, “Don’t Go Yet,” from Familia, the third studio album by Camila, was made available to the public in July 2021.
The second song from Familia, “Bam Bam,” debuted at number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached the top five of the Billboard Global 200 Chart, which was Cabello’s highest entry.
It also charted inside the top ten in several other countries. Familia reached its apex at position ten on Billboard 200 in the UK and ninth in Canada.
Camila released Familia, her third studio album, on April 8, 2022, on Epic Records. During 2020 and 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Cabello wrote the album with the help of producers, including Edgar Barrera, Ricky Reed, Mike Sabbath, and Cheche Alara.
The album is about bonding with the singer’s Latin American origins and getting inspiration from the “manifest collective joy” Cabello had with her family throughout the pandemic. Guests Yotuel, Ed Sheeran, Willow, and Mara Becerra contributed vocals for the songs of Familia.

On April 7, 2022, Cabello performed as the headlining act of “Familia: Welcome to the Family,” a virtual TikTok event.
According to the IFPI, Cabello’s “Havana” became the best-selling digital single of 2018 after receiving billions of streams across music platforms.
