Brendan Morais and Pieper James met and fell in love in Paradise. Both had appeared on ABC’s The Bachelor and The Bachelor before meeting each other through friends in the Bachelor Nation and starting a relationship. However, they maintained a lighthearted friendship before being cast on season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise together.
In contrast to James, who didn’t join the cast until Week 3 (after the show had already begun), Morais was there. In an exclusive interview with Us in September 2022, Pieper and Brendan revealed that they had been living together in Massachusetts for a few months, though they had yet to settle on a long-term arrangement.
After explaining that “we’ve always done things how we want,” Pieper said. “Probably for the best, we didn’t get engaged on the show because it would have put undue pressure on us to get married quickly. Let’s do things at our own pace, I guess.”

We had our first meeting today,” Pieper said. “I’m a big fan of therapy, and I think our relationship is fantastic; this is exactly what we need to take it to the next level, especially when you’re talking about getting married in the future.”
