The album will get released at 1:00 PM on March 24. (KST). (Jimin admits that he “screamed and wept” frequently; the BTS vocalist claims that the process of making music “has grown more daunting” for him.)
Jimin’s first full-length solo project got announced in a brief video clip. The name of the record got disclosed, and according to a press release, it refers to “Jimin addressing himself head-on as he gears up for taking his next steps.”
In its announcement, BigHit Music said, “Hello and welcome to BigHit Music. Jimin, a member of BTS, will release his debut solo album titled FACE. With FACE, Jimin confronts himself squarely as he prepares for his next move as a solo artist.”
It further noted, “We kindly ask for your ongoing attention in and support of Jimin’s first official solo activity as he will interact with the fans through various events, such as the FACE release. Pre-order time: beginning at 11 a.m. on February 22, 2023. (KST) Releasing time: Friday, March 24, 2023, starting at 1 p.m. (KST). Thank you.”
BigHit Music posted the teaser on Twitter. “Face 2023. 3. 24. 1 PM (KST) | 12 AM (ET),” it stated. A drop of water fell into the black ocean at the beginning of the clip, causing waves. A peach hue covered the video and formed the word “face” as background music played.
The news left many feeling happy and sad. “Very excited to see what Jimin has been working on,” someone tweeted. Said another admirer, “This is so Jimin; I’m ecstatic. Park Jimin and Face are approaching.” Jimin also reposted the teaser on his Instagram Stories.
Jimin initially hinted at the album earlier this month during a live Weverse show. According to a report by Soompi, he added, “I’m currently arranging loads of things that I can perform alongside you guys around that time.” “I’m organizing several activities we can do to amuse ourselves and have fun together, so I think you can look forward to it confidently.”

Jimin previously worked with Taeyang, a BigBang member, on the song “Vibe,” which served as Jimin’s first official release following BTS’ announcement that they would discontinue group releases to give the K-pop stars more time to concentrate on solo projects. On the tracks “Serendipity,” “Lie,” and “With You” from the soundtrack to “Our Blues” (the TvN drama), Jimin has previously performed solo.
The most recent Bangtan Boys’ (BTS) members to release full-length solo albums are RM and j-hope. In contrast, Jin with Coldplay released “The Astronaut,” Jungkook collaborated with Charlie Puth on “Left and Right,” and they both performed “Dreamers” for the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
At the same time, Suga was the first to announce a solo tour that will begin at the end of April and go through Asia and the United States.
Jimin made his BTS debut in 2013. He has since released three solo songs featuring BTS: 2016’s “Lie,” “Serendipity” in 2017, and 2020’s “Filter.” “Promise,” a song he co-wrote and co-composed, was his debut independent release in 2018. He sang the song “With You” with Ha Sung-Woon on the soundtrack for the TvN drama Our Blues, which aired in 2022.
