Shad Gregory Moss, known by his stage name Bow Wow is an American rapper & actor. Snoop Dogg discovered him in the late 1990s. He released his first album at 13 years old in 2000.

On March 9, 1987, Bow Wow was born in Columbus, Ohio, to Teresa Rena Caldwell & Alfonso Preston Moss. He showed an early interest in rap at age 3. Shad was raised by her mother; his father left the family when he was a child. He is a graduate with a high school diploma from Reynoldsburg High School.

In 1993, Shad was performing at a concert in LA, where he was noticed by Snoop Dogg, gave him his stage name, “Lil Bow Wow.” He dropped “Lil” from his stage name, as he confessed in one of his interviews. In 2000, his first album Beware of Dog was released under his stage name. His first album was certified double platinum in 2001, with sales crossing 2 million copies. Bow Wow has two platinum & three gold albums to his credit.

AN ACTOR

Bow Wow retired from music to concentrate on his acting career. His debut movie came out in 2002, “Like Mike” His best-known role is in The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift. He made guest appearances in shows like Smallville & Ugly Betty.

HOSTING

Shad had a long & successful career as a TV host. In October 2013, Bow Wow was chosen to host BET’s 106 & Park. Three years later, he began hosting RnB Friday Nights.
