Eddie Vedder, the legendary Pearl Jam Vocalist, turned 58 today.

Eddie Vedder, an American guitarist, singer, and composer best known as the main vocalist and one of Pearl Jam’s four guitarists, was born on December 23, 1964. As a one-time memorial to the late singer Andrew Wood, Temple of the Dog, Eddie also appeared as a guest vocalist. The legendary musician is celebrating his 58th birthday.

Vedder is well renowned for his imposing baritone singing. According to a Rolling Stone reader survey, he was rated the seventh-best lead singer.

Vedder released his debut solo album in 2007 to serve as the music for the movie Into the Wild (2007). Ukulele Songs, his second album, and Water on the Road, a live DVD, were published in 2011. In 2022, he released Earthling, his third studio album.

As a member of Pearl Jam, Vedder was honored by being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.

Into The Wild

Vedder contributed a whole album’s worth of music to the Into the Wild soundtrack from the 2007 movie. The soundtrack was made available through J Records on September 18, 2007. It features renditions of the songs “Society” by Jerry Hannan and “Hard Sun” by Indio.

Vedder received a 2008 Golden Globe Award for the Into the Wild song “Guaranteed.” In addition, he received a Golden Globe nomination for his original score for the movie efforts. “Guaranteed” was nominated for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television, or Other Visual Media at the 2008 Grammy Awards. Ukulele Song

Ukulele Songs, Eddie’s second solo album, is a collection of original songs and covers played on the ukulele. Eddie Vedder published it on May 31, 2011. On March 21, “Longing to Belong,” the album’s lead single, was made available digitally.

On the same day that Ukulele Songs was published, a live DVD dubbed Water on the Road, including live performances from two shows in Washington, D.C., during Vedder’s solo tour in 2008, was also made available.

Earthling

From his third studio album Earthling, Vedder released the single “Long Way” in September 2021. On November 18, 2021, “The Haves” and “Brother the Cloud” was released in their place. Limited edition 7″ vinyl of “Long Way” and “The Haves” have been made available.

Glen Hansard plays rhythm guitar and provides backing vocals for Vedder’s supporting group, “The Earthlings,” which also features Josh Klinghoffer on the keyboard, guitar, and songs, Chad Smith on drums, Chris Chaney on bass, and guitarist Andrew Watt. The album was also produced by Watt.

Special Collaborations

Vedder has collaborated with many well-known musicians, in addition to Pearl Jam and Temple of the Dog, in on-stage performances and recordings. In addition to recording with the Strokes, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Susan Sarandon, Supersuckers, and Zeke, he has appeared on albums by the Who, Ramones, Neil Young, R.E.M., Neil Finn, Fastbacks, Bad Religion, Mark Seymour, Wellwater Conspiracy, Cat Power, Mike Watt, Jack Irons, and John Doe.

Vedder sang with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers live in June and July 2006, contributing vocals to various songs, including the lead vocals on “The Waiting” and the background vocals on “American Girl.” At the 1993 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Vedder performed the songs “Break on Through (To the Other Side),” “Light My Fire,” and “Roadhouse Blues” with the remaining Doors members.

At the 2007 and 2010 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, he shared the stage with R.E.M. and the Stooges, respectively. At the Ramones’ final performance on August 6, 1996, at the Palace in Hollywood, Vedder made a cameo appearance.
