Diane played the role of an undocumented Bosnian immigrant and Liam Neeson in the Unknown in 2011. She got the role of Marie Antoinette after Eva Green quit the French film Les Adieux a la Reine. She was made one of the jury members for the main competition at the 2015 Venice Film Festival. Kruger made her German film debut in the thriller In the Fade in 2017. She replaced Marion Cotillard in The 355, a spy film.
