To honor Stan Lee, Marvel teases a documentary in 2023

Stan Lee, a legendary Marvel comic book writer, turned 100 on December 28 & Marvel Studios will tease an upcoming documentary about him on Disney Plus in 2023 to honor Lee.

The entertainment business wrote on its Instagram account alongside the teaser for the project, titled Stan Lee: 100 years of dreaming. A century of creation. 100 years of Stan Lee.”

At the age of 95, Lee passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in November 2018.

Marvel intends to honor the late writer, publisher, editor, and co-creator of comic books for his contributions to the development of several well-known characters, including the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Panther, the Hulk, the X-Men, Silver Surfer, Thor,  Nick Fury,  Ant-Man, and others.

Lee started working for Timely Comics in 1939, and the company preceded Marvel. Over the subsequent decades, he frequently switched between editor and temporary editor jobs. Stan Lee started as the principal editor and writer of Marvel Comics in the 1960s before being named publisher in 1972. He soon became the company’s spokesperson and an idol to comic book fans everywhere. Throughout his life, Lee made many cameo appearances in Marvel movies and television shows.

Even after he departed Marvel in the 1990s, Lee continued to serve as the company’s spokesperson. He frequently made cameos in Marvel-based movies and television shows, for which he received an executive producer credit, allowing him to surpass Steve Jobs as the highest-grossing person in movie history.

He carried on creating independently far into his 90s before passing away in 2018. Lee was inducted into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame for the comic book industry in 1994 and the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1995, respectively. In 2008, the NEA awarded him the National Medal of Arts.

After Stan Lee passed away, Disney CEO Bob Iger remarked, “Stan Lee was as exceptional as the characters he created.” Stan could uplift, entertain, and bind. In the eyes of Marvel fans everywhere, he was a superhero in his own right. Only his heart’s vastness was more important than his imagination’s range.

The 20-year arrangement between Stan Lee Universe, a partnership between Genius Brands International, and POW! The Hollywood Reporter first reported entertainment and Marvel. By the agreement, Marvel obtained a license to use Lee’s name and likeness in movies, television shows, Disney theme parks, and other media.

Disney+ will begin streaming the original documentary Stan Lee in 2023.  watch the original teaser below.
