‘Manic’ the 3rd studio album of Halsey, was completed three years

Manic is the name of American singer-songwriter Halsey’s third studio album. On January 17, 2020, Capitol Records made it accessible. So the album was completed three years yesterday, and still, it’s a fan-favorite.

An album is more than just a selection of songs to Halsey; it’s a corpus of labor. This mentality is more evident on her album Manic than in any other record in her repertoire.

It is the third album, but the first of its kind in the artist Ashley Frangipane’s discography, delivers an album “created by Ashley for Halsey” across 16 songs.

It’s simple to understand how much care and fun she spent organizing Manic because the audio samples and interludes essentially act as chapter breaks. It’s a culmination of who she is at that particular time.

Three singles, “Graveyard,” “Without Me,”  and “You Should Be Sad,” featuring Dominic Fike, Suga, and Alanis Morissette as special guests, were released before it.

With 239K units sold in its first week, the album became Halsey’s most significant debut in the nation to date and debuted at number two on the albums chart of Billboard 200  in the US. It was also her third top-two album overall.

RIAA(The Recording Industry Association of America) awarded Manic Platinum certification, making it the first album released in 2020 to do so.

Halsey, Cashmere Cat, Benny Blanco, Greg Kurstin, Finneas,  Lido, Jon Bellion, and Louis Bell, among others, produced the music. Manic, a record that leans heavily toward pop, also incorporates elements of hip-hop, alternative rock, electropop, K-pop, country, and R&B.

The record, according to Halsey, “changes its thoughts as much as she does,” she said.   Halsey started her third concert tour, the Manic World Tour, to support the album; however, after 17 dates, it was postponed and ultimately canceled owing to the COVID-19 outbreak.
