Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr., is “no longer on the table” at Marvel Studios

Iron Man fans were saddened by the exit of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man from Avengers: Endgame; thus, the news of his comeback thrilled them.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe got introduced in 2008 with the release of Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr. Tony Stark’s death while saving everyone in Avengers: Endgame marked the end of an era.

Recently, rumors have circulated that RDJ may return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Avengers: Secret Wars. Still, Marvel Executive Stephen Broussard has shot those rumors down in a recent interview. With heavy hearts, please scroll down to learn every detail regarding it.

These characters—whether   Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff, Chris Evans’ Captain America, Downey’s Tony Stark, or Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye—were the main reasons Marvel has amassed such a large fan base over the years.

The last phase saw the OG heroes passing on their legacies to others. There have been numerous rumors that Robert Downey Jr. will make another appearance due to MCU Phase 5 and the multiversal saga, but the likelihood is rapidly decreasing.

Robert Downey Jr.’s comeback as Iron Man may no longer be a possibility, according to Stephen Broussard, who is also the producer of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, in an interview with io9. He responded, “One of Phase Four’s meta-narratives was about new characters. It dealt with new individuals taking on leadership roles. Consider how Kate Bishop in Hawkeye” and Cassie Lang in “Quantumania” introduced new characters like Jack from “Werewolf by Night.”

Torches are being passed after the first ten years of Marvel storytelling, as evidenced by the fact that Robert Downey Jr. is no longer [on the] table and other such things. Hence, it was almost like a new generation taking the lead, which has always been the case in comic books.”

There were earlier rumors that Robert Downey Jr. might reprise his role as Iron Man in Marvel’s Ironheart and Armor Wars in addition to Avengers: Secret Wars. There were rumors that he would make a special appearance in Spider-Man 4, starring Tom Holland. All stories, however, have come to an end as a result of Broussard’s most recent statement. Or are they being extremely covert and secretive about it?

What do you think about this? Do you believe Robert Downey Jr. will play Iron Man in the MCU again? Please inform us in the comments.
