Jennifer Lopez accepts the Icon Award.
The enthusiastic crowd, which included Lopez’s beaming boyfriend Ben Affleck, who stood as he cheered for him, his son Samuel, and Lopez’s daughter Emme, repeatedly interrupted the star.
She was given this year’s Icon Award at the IHeartradio Music Awards 2022 on Tuesday night, and she seized the opportunity to thank her fans for their support and encouragement.
It was Lopez’s way of saying thank you to the fans, saying, “I appreciate this so much.” “While I’d want to say that receiving recognition was the most important thing to me, the fact is that it was far from it. My fascination in shiny, sparkling stuff isn’t something you should presume about me. There is no way in hell that I could ever tell a lie, and everyone knows it. But this isn’t the only factor in my decision to pursue this career path. It’s not the most important thing in my life, either. Because I care about you and your loved ones, “I’m doing it.”
n addition to Lopez’s beaming boyfriend Ben Affleck and his son Samuel, 10, and her daughter Emme, 14, the enthusiastic crowd frequently interrupted the actress. Emme Lopez, 14, and Affleck’s 10-year-old son Samuel were also in attendance.
And…
Lopez went on to say, “I get to do what I love the most in life because of you and that is the greatest blessing.” This is a gift from you, and I want to express my gratitude for it. Everyone who attends a performance, listens to a song, watches a movie, or follows me is greatly appreciated. I can’t thank you enough for giving me the chance to live a life I never could have dreamed of as a young girl in the Bronx.”
You took care of everything for me, she continued. Those dreams become a reality because of your efforts. There is a tremor in me! Your help is greatly appreciated, and you have my sincere gratitude. I will never take this for granted again, and I will never forget it. Thank you for believing in me when others didn’t and even when I didn’t, even when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you for guiding me to the truth of my own identity.
