Burna Boy, Tems, & Rema rocked at the NBA All-Star Game(2023)
Yesterday’s ( on February 19, 2023) NBA All-Star Game halftime show featured performances by Nigerian stars Burna Boy, Tems, and Rema.
The three Nigerian performers took turns performing on stage. Burna Boy opened with a spirited rendition of some of his classics, including “Last Last,” “It’s Plenty,” and “Alone,” before Rema took the stage to play “Calm Down” and “Holiday.“
Tems performed a medley of “Free Mind,” “Crazy Tings,” and “Higher” while surrounded by backing dancers to end the section. With her part from “Essence” by Wizkid and her line from Future’s “Wait 4 U,” Tems entered the stage last to wrap up the performance.

Over the past several years, the NBA has become increasingly international, bringing in more players from Asia, Europe, and Africa.
Burna Boy, Rema, and Tems were three of Africa’s most well-known Afrobeats/Afropop performers who performed at the 2023 All-Star Game Halftime Show in honor of African contributions to the league (and the league’s partnership with FIBA in creating the Basketball Africa League).
They were all introduced by Pascal Siakam (Toronto Raptors) from Cameroon.

A dance troupe that performed both traditional and contemporary African dances and a band that kept the energy upbeat accompanied each performance. And just as things seemed to be coming to a close, Burna Boy made a surprise appearance to perform “Last Last,” one of his biggest hits.
Post Malone played his songs “Wow.” and “Rockstar” for a gathering of fans before tip-off at tonight’s All-Star Game. He enlisted 21 Savage, on the song’s original studio version, for the latter tune.
Tems won her first Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance for the Future and Drake’s song “Wait for U.”

For her work on Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up,” which gets featured on the soundtrack for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, she has been nominated for the 2023 Academy Award for Best Original Song.
In January 2022, Rema appeared in the Caprisongs’ song “Jealousy” by FKA twigs. In April, he released his debut album, Rave & Roses. ” Love, Damini,’ Burna Boy’s previous LP, came that summer.
Rema leads the new generation of Nigerian Pop.
